Happy Valley Road will be opening this Sunday October 11, 2020 at 5pm. This is exciting news for everyone in the North Gateway area! There will be some additional closers this weekend so crews can make the final preparations to reopen Happy Valley with the new Diverging Diamond configurations. What to Expect This Weekend
The new Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at Happy Valley Road is scheduled to open Sunday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. To prepare for the interchange opening and allow crews to complete striping, install new signs and activate the new signals, Happy Valley Road approaching I-17 and all interchange ramps will be closed beginning Friday night until Sunday afternoon. Please note while traffic will flow through the interchange in the new Diverging Diamond travel patterns, lane restrictions will be needed on Happy Valley Road and the off-ramps until all work is completed later this fall.

Drivers who use Interstate 17 in north Phoenix should slow down in the construction zone and use caution while the following restrictions are in place.
